Competition
The Social Business Start-up Competition (the Competition) as part of the training and incubation programme of YSBC@CUHK – Jockey Club Youth Programme aims to mobilize youth efforts to take real actions through social business to combat poverty. There are currently many social enterprise competition programmes organized by both private and academic organizations. However, often the winning projects end after the competition or are hardly sustainable with limited support. YSBC@CUHK aims to encourage real actions beyond the competition through series of comprehensive training and incubation programme.
By providing (i) training, (ii) mentoring and (iii) competition, the Competition encourages the capable and interested students to form teams and submit social business plans for a seed money award to launch their own social business projects. A group of professors, professionals, social business entrepreneurs, etc. will be invited to be the mentor in the Competition. They will provide advice and guidance to the assigned group. Submitted proposal will be reviewed by a judiciary panel and the awarded projects will have a maximum of 2 years funding support.
